This was an excellent treatment of options; not only for beginners but for experienced options traders as well. Bill’s examples and analogies are very good. And there is enough redundancy to reinforce what is being explained.

The chapters on pricing principles, options market mechanics, volatility and hedging are especially well done.

This book needs to be kept close for ready reference.

I’m a newbie to options and find this book very understandable. The analogies in the book help one understand the nature of options.

My only criticism is that the book is not indexed. If I want to review a certain concept, sometimes it’s difficult to relocate it because there is no index.

For anyone who is trading options that has not had a formal training, and for anyone wanting to start trading, this book is a must. It is a good teaching book with chapter questions (and answers) that is simple to read, easy to understand and which gives an excellent overview of the whole options structure, relationships between the various “Greeks” and the option/stock price. In the later chapters there are explanations and examples of various trading combinations such as vertical spreads.
